In the global economy sourcing products from all over the world is a normal part of business. A challenge of sourcing products from long-distant locations is how to maintain quality while keeping tight production and shipping lead times.
When products arrive in overseas shipping containers and they do not meet specifications, it is nearly impossible to correct or return the products.
To help companies meet their deadlines, IDFL offers a wide range of inspection services. We ensure that the products ordered are correct before they leave the factory
Pre-Production Inspection (PPI)
As part of the Pre-Production Inspection an IDFL inspector will work with the factory employees to make sure that they understand the product specifications before products are made.
Initial Product Inspection (IPI)
The Initial Product Inspection will help verify that the factory not only understood the product specifications but that the first few products coming off the line are being built according to specifications.
During Production Inspection (DUPRO)
When a shipment is less than 80% complete IDFL will go into the factory and perform a During Production Inspection to ensure that the products meet the expected quality. Our inspectors will pull samples at random from the shipment to inspect and errors will be recorded and reported. This will help companies know whether the shipment is meeting quality standards before it is finished.
Final Random Inspection (FRI)
When a shipment is 100% complete and at least 80% packaged a Final Random Inspection can be performed to ensure that the products meet the expected quality. Our inspectors will pull samples at random from the shipment to inspect and errors will be recorded and reported to you. This will help a company know that the shipment is meeting quality standards before it leaves the factory.
When needed, IDFL can and will perform a 100% inspection to verify that the full shipment is meeting specifications. This is often the case when previous inspections have failed.
To comply with USA import regulations all factories that are washing and sterilizing natural materials (Down, Feathers, Wool, Hair) must have an inspection of the factory’s washing and sterilization equipment to verify that it meets the requirements to properly sterilize the material.
IDFL is authorized to perform sterilization inspections for the State of Pennsylvania for down, feathers, wool and hair sterilization equipment. IDFL can also assist with the sterilization permit applications for Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Equipment Inspection (EI)
Factory’s equipment break downs can cause product delays. To reduce the risk of equipment breakdowns IDFL will go to the factory and inspect the machinery and processes that will be used for order prior to production to verify that equipment is in good working order and being maintained properly.
